If still no luck there is for sure a good alternative to WMP That is free I've been using it for years and it reads almost everything.. You never know If this still doesn't work and after having uninstalled the codec pack try opening the MOD file renamed as MPG in Windows Media Player - maybe with this extension WMP will be able to download the correct codec.. From a Customer perspective I do agree things should work out of the box in 2013.. Prior to this and if you haven't tried this yet just rename one of your MOD as MPG and see how it goes.
